Acne can sap the self-esteem from a person suffering during an aggressive breakout. But it doesn’t have to be that way. At Primary Skin Care & Aesthetics, we provide acne treatments to those who want to end the cycle of acne on their face.
What are the different acne treatments available?
There are various cosmetic procedures that Dr. Acosta recommends for his patients plagued with acne. Two examples are chemical peels and microdermabrasion. Although not specifically used for the treatment of acne, both procedures can greatly help control the condition.
What is a chemical peel?
A chemical peel is a cosmetic procedure that applies different types of mild acids to the skin to help remove damaged and dead skin cells. Chemical peels also unclog facial pores, removing blackheads and whiteheads. Chemical peels trigger the body to produce newer, healthier skin cells to replace the damaged skin that was removed.
What is microdermabrasion?
A microdermabrasion is a type of skin rejuvenation treatment that uses a handheld device to deliver micro-crystals onto the skin surface. These tiny crystals will gently abrade the skin’s surface, removing impurities and dead skin cells.
What are your other acne treatment options?
During your consultation with Dr. Acosta, your condition will be assessed to determine the treatment that best suits you. In some cases, you will be advised to undergo an acne peel, an acne facial with peel, or a mini acne facial. If your back is also plagued with acne, Dr. Acosta will recommend a back acne treatment. This procedure cleanses, exfoliates, and extracts impurities on your back.
